What experience do I need to open a burrito shop with Ohio City Burrito?

We look for potential franchise owners with a strong passion for the brand and a love of great customer service. If you hold yourself and others to high-quality standards for products and services, you fit the bill. The right attitude and work ethic are more important than your experience. We can teach you the rest. We prefer that our franchisees be owner-operators who are heavily involved in the business.

What is provided as part of the Ohio City Burrito franchise program?

We will host you and your general manager at our headquarters for 15 days to train you on all the ins and outs of the business. With approval, you can invite other key staff members to join you. We will join you onsite for up to ten days before your grand opening. We will guide and coach you through everything you need to know to open a burrito shop confidently. And, of course, you’ll have access to our detailed confidential operations manual, which includes all our special recipes and established operating practices, so you can replicate the full Ohio City Burrito experience in your hometown.

How much will the franchise cost me?

The estimated initial investment to begin operations ranges from $413,500 to $771,500. This includes a $32,000 initial franchise fee for a single territory agreement. As with any new venture, adequate capital is essential to fund the initial business growth stages.

Is financing available?

We do not provide direct financing to franchise owners, but we may refer to financing sources on a case-by-case basis.

Are there ongoing fees to pay?  

We collect a 6% royalty fee based on net revenues each month. Fees such as this allow us to fund our ongoing support services, as well as the continued development of techniques and procedures, recipes, marketing tools, training programs, and systems upgrades. Are there any advertising fees?

Franchise owners will contribute 1% of net revenues to the brand marketing fund as Ohio City Burrito franchisees (this can increase to 2%). Collected funds will be used to develop marketing strategies to promote the Ohio City Burrito brand and cover the creative costs to create brand marketing materials and campaigns. Franchisees will also be required to invest in local marketing, initially $1,500 per month or 1% of net sales, whichever is greater. Franchise owners are expected to spend $5,000 on their Grand Opening as they open a burrito shop while leveraging our established brand and systems.

What is the term of the agreement?

The initial term of your agreement is ten years, with two subsequent successor agreement options of five years each. After that, you have a business you can continue to grow, and a legacy you can leave for your community and family.
